Area & Location: Located on the west coast of India, the city sits on the hills by the seashore. Thiruvananthapuram lies between 8.5º Latitude North and 76.9º Longitude East. It covers an area of 194 sq. km and has a population of 745,000 with a density of 3,500 per sq. km making it the largest and the most populous city in the state.
