T. V. Raman, born in the city of Pune, India, is a renowned Computer Scientist presently working with Google Research in California. He holds the designation of a Research Scientist at Google. He has submitted more than 20 patents related to Computer Technology development during his 11 years of experience in the industry. His main domain of work includes scripting language, auditory interfaces, Web standards and Web server applications.
T.V. Raman's Educational Achievements
Raman completed his Bachelors of Arts with Mathematic from the University of Pune in May 1987. In July 1989, he passed out from IIT Bombay after studying M.Sc with Computer Science. He further obtained a MS degree in computer science from Cornell University, Ithaca in New York and then did PhD with applied Mathematics in 1994. In the same year he also received the ACM Doctoral Dissertation Award for his thesis. Raman is well versed in 8 different languages. German, French, English are some of them.

T. V. Raman is a member of World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) XForms Working Group. He has been associated with world's top technology companies where he excelled in his profession. Raman was associated with IBM Research before joining Google, which is his current employer. In this

job with IBM in Almaden Research Center at San Jose in California, Raman was associated with research and development of XForms. RDC and "X + V". All these topics are considered to be advanced areas of next generation World Wide Web. Prior to his IBM stint, Raman worked with Adobe Systems as part of their Advanced Technology Group at San Jose, California. At Adobe, his main area of work was on PDF to HTML conversion, a technology that is currently used by major web sites. He was also involved in defining architecture for cross application data reuse and transfer using XML. Earlier in his career he worked for well known technology organizations like Intel, Xerox and Digital Equipment Corporation. His areas of work at these places were related to email telephony, reading machines and Multimodal Web Interfaces.
