Categories of School
Pune schools can be categorized as English Medium or Marathi Medium schools, which are either governed by PMC or run independently by private trusts. The English medium schools in Pune are either affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi (ICSE board) or to the Central Board of Secondary Education Delhi(CBSE board). Some schools are affiliated to the Maharashtra State Board (SSC board). There are boy's schools, girl's school, co-educational schools and residential schools in Pune.
School Admissions
Admission to Pune schools start mostly from the age of three. However, for toddlers and play schools, the age limit vary from school to school. Most of the schools have classes from nursery to class X while some have class XI and XII as well. Each year, admissions to the schools generally begin from the month of June and July.
