Traveling from Pune to Konark Park is a fun excursion undertaken by tourists of all age group to enjoy the bird park at Konark. This is not only a bird sanctuary but it serves as a research center regarding birds of different species. The place is a personal endeavor of Dr. Suhas Jog and has become a major sightseeing destination of the suburban regions of Pune.
What to See at Konark Park
It took some three decades to develop this aviary park and research center. Birds from all over the world have been kept. There are a variety of Cuckoos, such as Citron Crested Cuckoos, Goffin's Cuckoos, Yellow

Golden Pheasants, Ostriches, Macaws and Ring Oiet Pheasant. However, photography is not allowed for the visitors.
Apart from birds, the Konark Park houses a children’s play ground. The wings, sea-saws and the play things of the kind have been built inside the Konark Park to keep children happy. Some of the birds in the park have been brought from Australia and Africa. The Konark Park near Pune is located some five kilometers from Pashan, a little distance away from Ambrosa.
Among the several other excursions that tourists can undertake from Pune, the Pune to Konark trip is one of the shortest educational tours.
