Around Pune by Bus
The Pune Municipal Transport (PMPML) operates two 'Pune Darshan' services. A tourist can avail either of the two services originating from Deccan Gymkahana, and Pune Railway Station bus stands. The Pune city tour beginning at 9 am covers a total distance of 73 kilometers in 8 hours. The tourist sites covered by the city bus tour include: Aga Khan Palace, Osho Ashram, Tribal Museum, War Memorial, Shinde Chhatri, Rajiv Gandhi Animal Zoo, Baqul Park - Mahalakhshmi Temple, Parvati, Sarasbag - Peshwapark, Kelkar Musum, Phule Wada, Daqdusheth Halvai Ganapati, Lal Mahal, Shaniwarwada, Kesariwada, Ambedkar Library, Chaturshingi Temple, Pune University, Jog Bird Park, Savarkar Memorial, and Ambdekar Bhavan.
PMPML will soon introduce Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) along Satara Road and Solapur Road.
Dedicated routes will be marked for these specially designed buses which will run as per proper time schedule. Separate raised platforms will be constructed for faster and convinient boarding. Pune

Pune by autorickshaws
The three wheeled motorized vehicles can carry upto 3 people simultaneouly. Pre-paid or metered services can either be availed of. Pre-paid services are primarily available from Civil Enclave Lohegaon Airport, Shivaji Nagar, and Swargate bus depot. While traveling on meter, a passenger must verify the corresponding fares with the fare chart available with the rickshaw drivers before paying.
These 'auto-rickshaws', as they are called locally, ply to all corners of the city and are available round the clock.
Other Means of getting around Pune
A local train between Pune to Lonavala connects seventeen en-route stations. Rental cars is another popular transport mode for going around or outside Pune. In addition to the local Pune attractions, tourists can make tours to Khandala, Mahabaleshwar, Matheran, Sinhagad, Panchgani, Pratapgad and Rajgad Forts, Bhimshankar Temples, Bhaja Caves, and Karla Caves if they rent a car.
