Sabudanyachi Khichadi

Sabudanyachi Khichadi is a popular food item among the residents of Mumbai. It is made of Sago that is known as sabudana in local local language. The procedure followed to prepare this dish is quite easy. Ingredients that are needed to make Sabudanyachi Khichadi are sabudana, green chopped chilies, peanut powder, grated coconut, potato, ghee, jeera, and salt.

In this context, it should be mentioned that peanut powder can be prepared at home. To make it, roast peanuts in a vessel as long as they come out of their shells. After this remove the skin and grind it in a mixer grinder.

First wash the required amount of sabudana with water. Then completely drain it and sprinkle few water
drops onto it. Keep this washed sabudana aside. Then pour ghee in a bowl and give heat to it. Thereafter saute jeeea and green chilies together and potato into the mixture. Wait for few minutes until it gets fried.

Thereafter add peanut to the sabudana and add salt according to taste. People who prefer sweet taste in food items can add sugar to the mixture of sabudana. Then cook it properly. It hardly takes 10 minutes of time.

After this stir the mixture and sprinkle water to it, if it gets dry. Now the dish is ready to be served. Garnish it with small pieces of coconuts. Have it hot.

Usually when people undergo fasting, they have this recipe. Sabudanyachi Khichadi is considered to be a favorite item in the Maharashtrian breakfast table
