Mumbai Folk Songs
Some of the most popular folk forms among them include gondnals, lavnis, tamasha, Bhaleri, nautanki, bharuds and povadas. Owi is another form of folk song in Mumbai. Usually, women residing in villages sing owi at the time of dawn. They dedicate those songs to their parents and in-laws. On the other hand, Palane (the cradle song) is sung by the parents in order to calm their babies. Beside this, there is Artya. This folk song is mainly sung to please the gods and goddesses.

They are contemporary Hindi film singers. However, while talking about Mumbai Music, legendary singers of old times also deserve mention. The most-known people who sung for old Bollywood movies are Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle, Kishore Kumar (singer-cum-actor), Rafi, Mukesh, Gita Dutta, Talat Mahmood, K. L. Music Festivals in Mumbai
Some of the most popular music events that are held in Mumbai are Sangat Music festival, Jazz Utsav and Banganga Festival. All through the year a number of music concerts are held in Mumbai.
There are also several music stores of Mumbai. Among them Rhythm House, The Groove, Planet M, Hi- Hat and Music Cafe are some of the most-known music shops in Mumbai.
Now-a-days non-filmi album songs are also quite popular among the Indians. Falguni Pathak is quite known for her music albums. Apart from her, almost all the film singers make their personal music albums. Presently, remixing has become a popular trend in Mumbai Music industry.
