Mukesh Ambani, the famous Indian entrepreneur was born on 19th April, 1957 in Aden, Yemen. Mukesh completed his Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering from the Chemical Technology University Department. Thereafter he started pursuing MBA course at Stanford Business School, however, in order to give assistance to his father he left his study course after completing his first year. At that time, his father Shri Dhirubhai H. Ambani was undergoing Patalganga petrochemical Plant project.
In the year 1981 Mr. Ambani joined Reliance Group and since then is remarkably contributing to expand his business. Presently, he is Reliance Europe Ltd's Director and the chairman of Reliance Retail Limited and Reliance Petroleum Limited.
Mukesh Ambani is also the member of Prime Minister's Trade and Industry council, Scientific and Industrial Research Council. Added to this, he is closely associated with the National Council of Applied Economic Research, McKinsey Advisory Council, the Advisory Council of the Association of Indian Banks, Citigroup's Advisory Board, and Indo-US CEOs Forum. Added to this, Mukesh Ambani is also attached with several renowned educational institutions.
According to the latest report he is holding the maximum amount of shares of Reliance Industries. Mukesh is mainly involved

industry. Refining of petroleum, polyester fibres, textiles, exploration and production of gas and oil are some of the fields in which he gave immense stress.
At Jamnagar, Mukesh Ambani set up a petroleum refinery, which is considered to be the biggest one in the whole world. Apart from this, he established the Reliance Communications Limited (Reliance Infocomm Ltd.), that is treated to be the complex communications and information technology initiative.
For his brilliant contribution in the field Indian Industry, this rich Indian business tycoon was honored with 2007 'Global Vision' Award. He is also WBCSD's council member. Last year (2006), he received the Award of 'ET Business Leader of the Year'. The Economic Times of India conferred this title to him. Moreover, in 2006 he got 'Global Indian Leader Award' from Shri Manmohan Singh (Indian Prime Minister).
He is one of the highly respected business personalities in the world. In this respect his rank is 42. The World Communication Award was also given to him for being highly influential Telecommunications personality. Added to this, his glorious achievements include the Award for Asia Society Leadership (2004).
Nita Ambani is the name of his wife. They have 3 children, Anant, Akash and Isha.
