Madhuri Dixit was born on 15th May, 1967 in Mumbai. Her full name is Madhuri Shankar Dixit. Her parents are Snehlata Dxit and Shankar Dixit. Madhuri belongs to a Hindu Brahmin family. Bharati and Rupa are her sisters, whereas, Ajit is her brother's name. She studied at Parle College, Mumbai. From her college life she wanted to become a Micro-biologist but destiny made her a famous Hindi film actress.
She had been considered to be the dominant film personality of late 80s and 90s. Her Bollywood film career started with Rajshris. The film's name was Abodh. Here she acted opposite to Tapas Pal (a famous Bengali film actor). From the very beginning renowned Director Subhash Ghai showed faith in this Maharashtrian beauty. In his film Ram Lakhan, he took Madhuri Dixit. This film brought her popularity and people started to treat her as Madhubala's reincarnation.
It is said that Tezaab is her turning point. This film got a huge success. Saroj Khan gave choreography to this film song. 'Ek do teen' is one of these popular songs on which she danced. After this, Madhuri also acquired a celeb aura as a highly skilled dancer and actress. In this context, it should be mentioned that Madhuri is a trained Kathak dancer.
