Hanging Gardens, Mumbai comprises one of the most spectacular sightseeing destinations in Mumbai. The garden was formerly called the Pherozeshah Mehta Gardens but was rechristened because of the unique location of the gardens. The slopes of the Malabar hills were chosen for the venue of the garden. The Hanging Gardens double up as a tourist spot and a protection for the three huge water reservoirs over which it is built. The water reservoirs, together has a capacity of containing thirty million gallons of water. This water after purification is used for drinking purpose by a huge population of Mumbai.
