Amitabh Bachchan is one of the popular actors of Bollywood. His birth date is 11th October 1942. Bachchan began his acting career in 1969. His popularity as an Indian actor reached its pinnacle during the middle years of 1970 to 1980s.
Amitabh Bachchan's father Harivansh Rai Bachchan was a famous poet of India. His mother's name is Teji Bachchan. Before he joined the film industry, he was known by the name of Amitabh Harivansh Srivastav. Amitabh Bachchan grew up in Uttar Pradesh.
He studied in the Boys' High School in Allahabad. From there he went to pursue higher study from Sherwood College in Nainital. After completing his graduation in Arts, he pursued a degree course in science from Kirori Mal College.
Amitabh Bachchan started his career in an office in Bird & Co. a shipping company in Kolkata. But later he left the company to fulfill his dream as an actor. Besides pursuing his career in Hindi film industry in Mumbai, he was also elected as a Member of Parliament. He continued as an MP only for 3 years.
After completing his studies, he came to Mumbai. Bachchan made his name in the Indian cinema with his film Zanjeer where he acted with Jaya Bhaduri. Later he married his co-actress Jaya Bhaduri and they have a boy and a girl. His daughter is Shweta and his son Abhishek also followed the footsteps of his parents and took up acting.
