Aamir Khan


Aamir Khan was born on March 14 in the year 1965 in Mumbai in India. He is one of the leading actors of Hindi films in India. In 2003, he was honored with Padma Bhushan by the Government of India. Aamir Khan as a child acted in Yaadon Ki Baraat in 1973.

Aamir Khan is born in a family where other members are also associated with the film industry. His birth name is Aamir Hussain Khan. He is the son of Tahir Hussain. His cousin is Monsoor Khan. His cousin directed Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak and Aamir Khan's career got a boost by acting in this film. He acted in this film at the age of 23 and he became popular with the young generation.

Aamir Khan completed his schooling from Bombay Scottish. Then he studied in N.M College. He also played Tennis championship representing his state. His first wife was Reena Dutta and they have two children Junaid and Ira. Then he divorced her to marry Kiran Rao.

Aamir Khan has met with much success in the later films of his career. He has acted in different roles in different films. He has acted in romantic, comedy, action and dramatic Hindi films. Recently he directed a film called Taare Zameen Par that got released in 2007.

Aamir Khan has been nominated for various categories for different film awards. The awards won by Aamir Khan include the Filmfare Award for the Best
Actor category for the film Rang De Basanti in 2007. He was also honored with the Filmfare Award for being the Best Actor of the year, for the film Lagaan: Once Upon a Time in India. In 1997, he won the same award for the film Raja Hindustani. In 1989, Filmfare gave him the award for the Best Newcomer. Aamir Khan won the Golden Lotus Award for Lagaan with the director of the film, Ashutosh Gowariker.
