- For the last couple of months, several US businessmen are visiting Kolkata to explore opportunities specifically in small and medium sized segments.
- The Chamber of Textile Trade and Industry (COTTI) designed plans to set up an integrated textile park near Kolkata to promote the textile manufacture and exports. The project will cost about Rs. 500 crore.
- The Government of West Bengal also targets to attract foreign investors to invest in West Bengal. To promote the foreign trade, Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) is supporting Bengal Government to establish a cell of World Trade Organization at Salt Lake, Kolkata.
