Science City in Kolkata is one of the prominent tourist spots at the crossing point of Park Circus and Eastern Metropolitan Bypass. This science museum was established in 1997. Dum Dum Metro station and Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport is situated near this famous tourist destination.
Usually from 9 am to 9 pm, Kolkata Science City remains open. As this center is packed with highly updated scientific equipments, visitors need minimum 3 hours time to explore the whole center. October to March is considered to be the best season for visiting this place.
This famous Kolkata museum of Science comprises large flower gardens. On the ground floor, visitors can see a number of scientific accessories in Dynamotion section, such as, Energy Ball, Tornado, Ocean Waves and Quick Sand. Added to this, visitors will also come across an aquatic world, Rolling Balls, Optical Illusions and the insects’ world.
On the other hand, there is a Time Machine. It takes people to the outer space and is highly popular among the thrill lovers. Apart from this, visitors will also come across an artificially made Jurassic Park. Here, Dinosaurs can be seen. Apart from this, musical fountain and convention centre are few other major attractions of Science City.

Mainly, in Science City of Calcutta people can watch shows on animal life. Here astronomical events are also held. The main auditorium has the capacity of accommodating more than 2000 people. Space Theater (the auditorium) is said to be the center of attraction of this science museum. Moreover, there is a mini auditorium that can accommodate up to 400 people. Added to this, there are eight halls, where seminars are held. They feature updated audio-visual systems.
