Roshogolla is one of the favorite sweets of the Kolkata people. In most of the occasions, Roshogolla is included as side dish. Roshogolla is mainly served as a dessert. The ingredients that are required to prepare this sweet dish include:
- Flour
- Milk
- Sugar
- Lemon Juice
- Rosewater Essence
- Water
A particular method has to be followed while preparing Roshogolla. First, pour milk in a pan and then boil it. After
sometimes remove the boiled milk from heat. Thereafter, add lemon juice to it and stir it gently, as long as it forms card on the coating. Now, "chenna" is ready.

This is considered to be the main ingredient for making Roshogolla. After this, wash chenna properly with cold water. Now, remove the cloth which was being used for extracting water from "chenna". Then, add flour to the washed "chenna" and knead it properly.
All the balls must be of equal size. Then comes, the time to prepare sugar syrup. For this, mix water and sugar in a sauce pan and give heat. Then, put chenna balls into the sugar syrup and cook it for more than fifteen-minutes. While doing this, partially cover the bowl, in which you are preparing this hot sweet dish. This is how the thick sweet syrup will enter the chenna ball and will make it puffy. Rose water essence is added to the chenna ball for better taste. Roshogolla is now ready to eat.
