Joy Goswami is an eminent writer from Kolkata whose poems and novels continue to be a hot favorite among the contemporary youth. He writes his literary works only in Bengali. His style of writing poetry is unconventional and this difference has earned him his present popularity and reputation. Goswami is more engaged in writing poems and all of his poems have a strong emotional streak and privacy in them. Many of his works of novel have been made into movies, which includes the 'Jara Brishtite Bhijechhilo' and 'Snaajbaatir Rupkathara'. He is presently involved in writing poems for 'Desh', a Bengali literary magazine. Of late, he has taken active interest in socio-political issues in West Bengal.

Awards Won by Joy Goswami
Joy Goswami's works have been honored with many a prestigious awards. His first chief literary award was the Ananda Purashkar in 1990 for 'Ghumiyecho Jhaupata?'. He bagged the Ananda Puraskar' yet again in 1998 for his novel 'Jara Brishtite Bhijechhilo'. In 1997 his work 'Bojro Bidyut Bharti Kotha' won the West Nengal Academy Award. 'Paagli Tomar Shonge' won Sahitya Akademi Award.
Early Life of Joy Goswami
The childhood and upbringing of Joy Goswami played a significant role in making him the sensitive person and poet that he is today. After the demise of his father when he was just six years of age, the family was run by his mother. Her strength and determination had a long lasting impact on the personality of Joy Goswami.
