The total infrastructural cost of Big 92.7 FM in Kolkata including equipments and licensing charges amounts to approximately Rs 400 crores. The transmission equipments bought from AXIA in the United States is one of the most sophisticated technologies to be used in the Asian continent. The power supply is hot swappable and the power amplifiers are redundant card controlled.
The power back-up of the radio transmitters is four hours, which allows playing pre-programmed content in case of a power disruption. The installation of a web-based Media Monitoring Center (MMC) in Mumbai will allow the monitoring of all the 45 stations operating nationally. This round the clock support will provide instantaneous solution in case of snags in any of its 45 centers.
