Admission procedures at Ashok Hall Schools
Admission to all the three schools are controlled by the Ashok Hall Group authorities. For admission to the lower and upper infant class, certain procedures must be followed. Parents can collect the prospectus and the registration form and mention their choice of school out of the three. The child must appear on a given date and time mentioned on the admit card by the school. The school will require the following documents:

Mahadevi Birla Shishu Vihar: This is the first school set up by the Ashok Hall group in the year 1946. Located in a very posh area of Kolkata, this co-education school has more than 1000 students at present and has classes up to the 5th standard. The ICSE affiliated school teaches English, Civics & History, Hindi, Geography, Bengali, Value Education, Mathematics, Environmental Education, Computer Education, Science (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) and Art & Craft. Special training on karate, chess and aerobics is also given to the students.
Ashok Halls Girl's Higher Secondary Education: This coeducational school, set up in 1951 is one of the leading institutions in India. The two sections (junior and senior) are located in two different locations in Kolkata. This is a CBSE affiliated school that offers various facilities like library, counseling service and medical facilities to the students. From class V to VIII, the three compulsory languages include English, Hindi or Bengali and lower Hindi or lower Sanskrit as third language. The students must take up English and Hindi or Bengali or Sanskrit at the ninth and tenth standard. At the senior secondary level, students must choose two language subject and four elective subjects as a part of their curriculum.
G.D.Birla Centre For Education: This is an ICSE affiliated girls school, founded in 1973 in South Kolkata. In the morning session, science and commerce subjects are taught and only science subjects are taught in the afternoon section.
The Schools of Ashok Hall Group have been performing brilliantly at the board exams. In 2007, the G.D. Birla scored the highest with 98.2% in the ICSE exams.
