Aparna Sen, born in 1945, is a popular film personality and one of the best actresses in India. She was born in a family that was already involved deeply with the film industry. Her father Chidanda Das Gupta was a film maker, critic and a renowned film historian. Undoubtedly, she had all the qualities she needed to make a strong foothold in the film industry. She was awarded with the Padmashree Award by the President of India. She was also awarded the Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement Award for her contribution to the film industry.
She has been associated with the film industry through her different roles as director, script writer and actor.
