Akash Bangla is a Bengali channel from Calcutta and it airs news, soap operas and, talk shows and movies. This channel can be viewed from anywhere in West Bengal as it is a free to air channel. The channel was launched on the 8th of March, 200? . This was the first among the private Bengali channels to be produced at a local scale. The date of its launch had been canceled three times but received a rather pampering welcome from the audience. The programs of the channel are aired from six in the morning to twelve at midnight.
The managing director of Akash Bangla is Mr. Arun Poddar. Other promoters of the channel include Mr RG Bansal of Bansal Mechanical Works, Mr Umang Kejriwal of Electrosteel Castings and Mr Kajal Sengupta of the Senbo Group.
