Yesudas is one of the most eminent musicians of India. The full name of the famous singer is Dr. Kattassery Joseph Yesudas He has mastered classical music of India. Dr. Yesudas has also the credential to sing as a playback singer in almost all Indian languages. Yesudas was born on 10th January in 1940 at Fort Kochi in Kerala. Prabha is Yesudas's wife. Vishal, Vinod and Vijay are the three sons of this great musician.
About Yesudas
Mr. Augustinre Joseph Bagavathor, who was the father of Yesudas was also a renowned classical singer. Yesudas had faced many hardships in his early life due to the financial constraints of the family. His inclination towards music was recognized by his father at a very early age. Yesudas was imparted lessons in Carnatic music from the age of five. Kattassery Joseph Yesudas has the honor to receive Padmabhushan Award from the Indian President in the year 2002.
Musical Career of Yesudas
Yesudas joined Music Academy in Thrippunithura. At the age of seven he had won a gold medal in a music competition. Chembai Vaidyanatha Bhagavatar, who was a popular performer, trained him. Apart from Carnatic music Yesudas had learned Hindustani Music. Yesudas has the credential of recording about more than 40,000 in many Indian languages like Tamil, Kannada, Tulu, Russian, Bengali, Oriya, Punjabi, Gujarati, English, Latin, Sanskrit and Kannada.
Yesudas had received National Film Award in the category of best singer for seven times. When he performs in the musical concerts arranged in Middle East, he sings Arabic songs molding it in Carnatic style.

Accomplishments of Yesudas
Dr. Kattassery Joseph Yesudas, in1980 had established Tharangini Studio in Trivandrum. In 1992 the studio was shifted to Chennai and then to United States in the year 1998. Tharangini studio carries out the job of presenting and producing events related to the concerts of the great musician.
