Mass Transit: The public transportation system of Delhi city consists of public and private buses and three-wheeler scooters, called auto rickshaws, run by private operators. Delhi city has one of the biggest bus networks of India. The publicly owned buses are run by the Delhi Transport Corporation. Various private companies also run buses on the roads of Delhi city. Delhi city also has the largest fleet of environment-friendly CNG buses in the world. The bus tickets cost Rs. 2, Rs. 5, or Rs. 10 depending on the journey.

Metro: A Metro rail system was launched in Delhi city in late 2005. This is run and managed by the Delhi Metro Corporation. Currently, only three lines of Metro rail run in Delhi. The Metro rail system is a new entrant in Delhi city and is slated to undergo expansion to cover more areas of Delhi.

Airports: The international airport of Delhi city is the Indira Gandhi International Airport. It is both the domestic and international airport of Delhi city. It is one of the busiest airports of South Asia. There are two terminals in this airport. Terminal 1 is domestic and Terminal 2 is international. The international terminal is located about 5 kms from the domestic terminal. The international terminal has all the conveniences like restaurants, cafes, duty-free shops, and bureaus de change located within its premises. A shuttle service is present to transport people from the domestic to the international terminal.

Taxis: Taxis can be found at the taxi stands outside the airport of Delhi city.

Taxi stands are also located outside numerous hotels of the city. You can hail taxis on the streets of Delhi city. All the taxis carry an electronic meter, which displays the fare at the end of the trip. These taxis are owned by private taxi operators.

Car Rentals: Traveling by renting a car is the most convenient means of Delhi Transport. There are many reputed car rental companies in Delhi city.

Auto Rickshaws: Another popular means of transport are the auto rickshaws. These are three-wheeled scooters, which have a seating capacity of three people. These are more costly than the buses, but less costly than taxis. These can be hailed on the streets. These also carry electronic meters, which display the fare at the end of the journey.
