Tourist Attractions: Delhi city is full of various monuments and worship spots, which were built by the various rulers of Delhi city. There are fine examples of Hindu, Mughal, and British art and architecture in Delhi city, which are a must-see for a tourist to Delhi. Some of the tourist attractions of Delhi are the Mughal Gardens, India Gate, Jantar Mantar, Qutub Minar. The Mughal Gardens were designed by Sir Edward Lutyens. These gardens were designed after studying the gardens of the Taj Mahal and the Shalimar Gardens. These gardens were designed after combining traditional Mughal and English styles. The gardens consist of three parts - the first is the "rectangular garden," the second is the "long garden," and the third is the "circular garden." Lutyens has combined soft English borders, small flowerbeds, and lawns to produce an exquisite floral paradise. There is a delightful Pergola on which bougainvillea creepers grow. This wonderfully landscaped garden is a treat to watch and the various colorful flowers create a wonderful display of colors.

Museums: There are many museums in Delhi city to which you can go to experience the culture of Delhi for yourself. Some of the museums, which are definitely worth paying a visit to, are Crafts Museum, National Museum, and Nehru Museum. The National Museum is the largest museum of India. It's located in central Delhi in Janpath. Its large array of exhibits depict the 5,000 years of Indian history. There are three floors in this museum, which have many exhibits depicting many art and sculpture pieces, which are all arranged according to the era to which they belong. Some of the exhibits of the museum, which are priceless examples of the bygone era are "the dancing girl from Mohenjodaro" belonging to the year 2,500 B.C., the paintings of the Moghul period, and the Arabian manuscripts. The jewelry section features stone tools belonging to the Neolithic age and dating back to 3,000 and 1,500 B.C.

Amusement Parks: While you are in Delhi city, your kids might be missing out on some kiddie enjoyment. You don't need to worry. There are plenty of kiddie enjoyment opportunities available for your kids in Delhi.

Some of the amusement parks, which are a favorite of the kids of Delhi, are Appu Ghar, Fun "N" Food Village, and Children's Park. Appu Ghar was the very first amusement park of India. It is located in Pragati Maidan, which are the trade fair grounds of Delhi city. It occupies over 15.5 acres of land and houses 22 exhilarating rides. There are several rides, which are specifically designed for elders, and some rides, which are meant for little kids. Recently, a water park, called O.Y.S.T.E.R.S. spread over 3.5 acres was added to its attractions. There are many exciting rides in this park. There are plentiful dining opportunities also in the form of outlets of many leading restaurants of Delhi city.

Beaches: The capital of India is completely landlocked on all sides. There are no sea beaches in Delhi city. But, there are several lakes in Delhi where you can relax. Bhalswa Lake situated in the northeast of Delhi city has a sports and leisure complex situated in it. You can take a ride in pedal boats, kayaks, canoes, and speed boats here. You can also indulge in a little fishing. Hovercraft and water scooters can also be rented at this lake. There are also three lakes in nearby Haryana state where people from Delhi can go. These are situated at an hour or so distance from Delhi city. These are Badhkal lake, Dam Dama lake, and Sohna lake. There is another lake, the Surajkund lake, which is just outside the border of Delhi city.

Activities: There are many adventure sports that the outdoor sport lovers can take part in Delhi city. Visitors can enjoy rock-climbing, trekking, parasailing, ballooning, bungee jumping, and white water rafting too. If you love parasailing, you can enjoy the sport in Sohna, which is situated 60 kms from Delhi city. You can soar like an eagle under the supervision of experienced trainers.
