Thiruneermalai is a panchayat town that is situated in the district of Kancheepuram. There are two temples on the top and base of the temple; the top being dedicated to Lord Vishnu and the base temple dedicated to Lord Rama. This place is visited by a large number of devotees throughout the year.

The temple on the hill top is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The place has derived its name form Thirumangai Azhwar who once visited the shrine. The top of the hill provides a view of the Pallavaram area and can be reached through a flight of steps.

There are four shrines on the top of the hill dedicated to Trivikrama, Animamalarmangai Thayaar, Lord Narasimha and Lord Ranganatha. The temple at the base is consecrated to Lord Rama. He is seen in a standing position in this temple. The temples witness a huge crowd during the festivals of Panguni Uthiram and Chitrai Month.
Thiruneermalai of Chennai is among the 108 places that are considered to be sacred by the Vaishnavites. As per the history, Valmiki once worshipped Lord Narayana on the top of the temple. Devotees from the nearby towns and villages visit Thiruneermalai throughout the year. This place lies on the Chennai Tambaram rail route.
