Thennangore Radhakrishna Temple |

Thennangore Radhakrishna Temple is located on the road to Vanaavasi. It has been built by Haridas Giri Swaniji in the form of the Jagannath Temple of Puri. This temple witnesses a huge crowd during the Krishna Jayanthi festival. Everyday Bhajans entertain the devotees.
Thennangore Radhakrishna Temple of Chennai has been constructed in the form of the Jagannath Temple of Puri. This temple has been recently built and lies on the road to Vanaavasi, which is about 15 kilometers from Uttiramerur.
The idols of the Radhakrishna Temple of Thennangore are exactly the same as that of the Panduranga of Pandaripur, North India. Thennangore is believed to be the birth place of Meenakshi, a Hindu goddess. The temple is architecturally modern.

Thennangore Radhakrishna Temple, Chennai was established by Haridas Giri Swaniji. The temple has got a Bhajan Hall. The pillars of this hall have been built in the form of the saints of the Bakthi cult. This temple also possesses beautiful sculptures that depict scenes from Lord Krishna's life. There are idols of Panduranga in the sanctum.
Chennai Thennangore Radhakrishna Temple also has got a shrine of Gnananda Giri and a temple of Siva. A large number of devotees visit this temple everyday. They are fed with 'prasad'. Bhajan is arranged everyday to entertain the ardent devotees. The temple witnesses a huge crowd including foreigners during the Krishna Jayanthi festival.
One can reach the Thennangore Radhakrishna Temple by buses that are available from Chengelpet and Kancheepuram.
