Kishkinta one of the first amusement parks of India, has been accredited as one of the best theme parks in the entire Indian sub-continent. Located at a distance of 28 kilometers from Chennai, the amusement park can be easily accessed from all parts of the city. The park was established in 1995 with an aim of providing entertainment to people of all age groups.
Navodaya Mass Entertainments Limited, which is a sister concern of Navodaya Films, is the main company behind the setting up of Kishkinta. The man behind this dream project was MC Punnoose, popularly known as Appachan. There are also other companies that support this grand project. The entire project incurred an expense of Rs.250 millions.
Kishkinta in Chennai was initially a barren land, where around 10,000 saplings were planted. Presently, the amusement park has many entertainment facilities that are enjoyed by children as well as by adults. There are many water events, rides and a special kid’s zone in Kishkinta at Chennai. New technological innovations are implemented from time to time in the amusement park to enhance the fun element in the park. The 3D theater is another interesting part of the amusement park. Viewers are expected to have an exceptional experience in the theater. The special effects of the theater are bound to leave one mesmerized. This is surely going to be an experience of a lifetime.
Kishkinta can be visited on all days of the week, however the timings are a bit different for Sundays and other holidays. On weekdays, the park remains open from 1100hrs to 1930hrs, while on Sundays and holidays it opens at 1000hrs and closes at 2030hrs.
