College of Engineering, Guindy is one of India’s oldest engineering colleges. It is functioning since 1794 but then it was only a School of Survey. The college provides engineering degrees in several fields at the graduate and undergraduate level.

The College of Engineering, Guindy, one of the oldest engineering colleges of India, came up in the month of May in 1794. But then, it was a School of Survey. It became a college in 1859. Ultimately in 1978, this college was converted into a technical university. This college also holds the credit of establishing the first computer center in South India in 1963.

The College of Engineering, Guindy, Chennai has established connection with reputed institutes such as European Economic Community, USAID, Governments of UK and Germany, Ford Foundation and UNCHS. It provides various undergraduate and postgraduate engineering degrees in several fields.
