Chennai Central Train Station is one of the busiest railway stations of India. Most of the trains that arrive and depart from the train station are long-distance ones. There are also many trains that travel to other South Indian destinations but has this station as a major stop. Many travelers and tourists make this train station their base for moving to other destinations in South India.
Chennai Central Train Station has become a place of attraction by itself. The large red brick building is reminiscent of the British Raj in India. It is said to be constructed and designed by the renowned architect, Henry Irwin. This railway station connects Chennai with the other parts of India, specially to the north and western part of India.
