Venkatappa Art Gallery is among the popular art galleries in Bangalore. Located at Kasturba Road, this art gallery is frequented by large numbers of travelers and tourists. Venkatappa Art Gallery in Bangalore has a total of around 600 paintings on exhibition. There are separate floors in the art gallery for various kinds of paintings. Most of these paintings are exhibited all throughout the year in the gallery.
The ground floor of the Venkatappa Art Gallery at Bangalore is dedicated to K. Venkatappa. Born in 1887, he belonged to a family of court painters. He created several masterpieces, which include paintings of the Ooty Lake, Kodaikanal, Nilgiri Mountains, Monsoons and many more.

The first floor of the Venkatappa Art Gallery of Bangalore has works of many renowned Indian artists and painters. Some of the artists are Hariram, M. F. Hussain, Yusuf Arakkal, N. S. Bendre, Vasudev, Rekha Rao, Hanumaiah and many more. There are also many woodcarvings that are on display in this floor of the museum. Ample opportunities for displaying art works of other artists are also available on the first floor of the museum.
The second floor of the Venkatappa Art Gallery, Bangalore is exclusively dedicated to K. K. Hebbar and the floor is also called the 'Hebbar Section'. Various creations and masterpieces of the great artist are displayed on this floor.
The Venkatappa Art Gallery is in close proximity to the Government Museum in Bangalore. The museum can be accessed from 0900 hrs to 1700 hrs. However, it remains close on Wednesdays.
