University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore was established in 1964 by the Government of Mysore. One can pursue various undergraduate, post graduate and doctoral programs in agriculture and allied sciences. Dr. R. Govindan is the director of this university. There is an excellent library and laboratory in this university.
University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore came up in 1964 due to the efforts made by the Government of Mysore. Situated in the northern part of Bangalore, the university is located at a distance of 14 kilometers from the railway station. Dr. R. Govindan is the director of this university of Bangalore. This State University is a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). It is also UGC recognized.
From 1966, the University of Agricultural Sciences of Bangalore started post graduate programs in five disciplines. It has now 23 Master's and 13 Ph.D. Degree programs. The university aims at providing a technological base and manpower for the development of agriculture in Bangalore. A highly qualified team of faculties are engaged to educate the students on agriculture and allied sciences. A number of students from this university have also been able to take admissions in well-known international universities.

The university offers Master's Degree in 45 areas of Agriculture and Animal Sciences and is a 2 years program. The Doctoral Degree is provided in 34 areas

and the duration of the course is of 3 years. Under the Directorate of Extension, the Staff Training Unit offers training in various fields related to dairy production, sericulture, horticulture and animal husbandry.
