Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research

Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research, also known as JNCASR, came up in 1989 by the efforts made by the Department of Science and Technology of the Government of India. It is a multidisciplinary research institute carrying out various research programs in the fields related to science and engineering.

Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR) is ideally situated in Jakkur, north of Bangalore city. It is a multidisciplinary research institute. This institute carries out research in the fields related to science and engineering. It was established by the Department of Science and Technology of the Government of India in 1989. This organization receives fund from the Department of Science and Technology of the Government of India.

A big research team works at the Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research of Bangalore. It is a deemed university that offers Master's and Ph.D. degrees. The 7 units of this well-known research center of Bangalore are as follows:

It also possesses two off-campus units namely Condensed Matter Theory Units and Chemical Biology that are located at Indian Institute of Science. The faculty members of the center have received several prestigious awards. Their research works have been published in some reputed magazines and journals such as the Journal of Fluid Mechanics, the Journal of the American Chemical Society, Physical Review Letters and Angewandte Chemie.

Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research, Bangalore also organizes various workshops and seminars whereby researchers from foreign countries interact with the students. Some of its research programs include annual Summer Research Fellowship program, Project-Oriented-Biological-Education (POBE) and Project-Oriented-Chemical-Education (POCE).
