Gandhi Bhavan, Bangalore is one of the major places of interest in Bangalore. The Bhavan was started by Dr. Rajendra Prasad as a Gandhi Smarak Nidhi to carry forward the teachings and philosophies of Mahatma Gandhi, the 'Father of the Nation'. The building houses an excellent collection of rare photographs and letters of the Mahatma. Pictures of Gandhi's childhood to the last day of his life are displayed in the Gandhi Bhavan. The Gandhi Bhavan of Bangalore is presently used as a venue for sessions, meetings and seminars based on the life and works of Mahatma Gandhi. Every year on 2nd October special programs are held based on the life of Bapu to pay tribute to the great Indian Independence activist.

The Gandhi Bhavan has a publishing wing, which publishes various articles on the life and works of Mahatma Gandhi. The building also houses a library, which has a rich collection of books penned by different authors. Various activities are also conducted by the Gandhi Bhavan. They are:

Visiting Hours
The Gandhi Bhavan is open from 10.30 am to 3 pm. The Bhavan is closed on Sundays and on general holidays. However from 1.30 pm to 3 pm is the lunch hour.
