Budapest Mayor is the chairperson of the Budapest Municipality. He is assigned with the overall responsibility of the administrative divisions of Budapest.
The Mayor of Budapest
The Municipality of Budapest is primarily controlled and operated by the Budapest Mayor. Being the capital city of Hungary, Budapest incorporates a two-level government--District Government and Municipal Government. In order to make the civic life of Budapest more comfortable several duties and responsibilities are specified for the local Government of Budapest. Since the Mayor of Budapest heads the Budapest local government, he is primarily responsible for looking after the overall administration of Budapest. The Budapest Parliament has defined the duties of the Budapest Mayor.
The present Mayor and Deputy Mayors of Budapest
At present Mr. Gabor Demszky has graced the post of the Budapest Mayor. Demszky performs his task with the assistance of three highly efficient Deputy Mayors namely Mr. Miklos Hagyo, Csaba

Horvath and Ikvai Szabo and one Chief Clerk Zsolt Tiba.
The major duties and responsibilities of Deputy Mayors are as follows:
- Budget planning
- Several tasks related to culture, education, youth politics, minorities and handicapped
- Various services related to civic life as transport system, maintenance of roadways, resource utilization etc
The responsibilities of Chief Clerk:
- Mainly supervises the Office of Budapest Mayor
- He is in charge to watch over the execution of the projects undertook by Budapest Municipalities
