Gellert Hill is named after Bishop Gellert, a Christian missionary who preached Christianity in Hungary. 140 meters high, the hill overlooks the Danube River and the city of Budapest. Gellert hill is associated with many legends. It is said that Bishop Gellert was put in a barrel by the pagans of Hungary and was hurled down the hill. According to another legend, witches used to make night visits to the hill riding on the backs of human beings.
