A trip from Budapest to Castle District can be undertaken at any point of time. One can avail the cable car which conducts frequent trips to the district from the Buda end of the city. Budapest to Castle District is a trip that almost every tourist to the city undertakes. The Castle District is one of the earliest settlements on the right bank of the Hungarian capital of Budapest. The Castle District is encompassed on all sides by walls. The surrounded area is thus protected and secured from the outer world. The Castle district with its traces of ancient buildings, lined roads and imposing monuments has still managed to retain much of the charm of the bygone era. They give the tourists a fair idea of life in Budapest during the 18th and 19th century.

Budapest to Castle District-A Smooth Ride

Traveling from Budapest to Castle district is pretty easy. The cable car is one of the best possible options available to explore the Castle District. Cable cars are
available from Clark Adamter which is located at one side of the Chain Bridge, at the Buda end. The cable car travels on a track which is almost 100 m long. One can also avail Castle bus or Varbusz which travels at frequent intervals. Tickets for a ride on cable cars cost around 650 HUF for an upward trip while the fare of a downward trip comes to around 550 HUF. Concessions are available on tickets for children between the age of 3 to 14 years and they cost around 350 HUF.

An interesting fact about the Castle District is that, the use of cars is completely banned in this district of Budapest. With the exception of taxis and the cars of the local people, tourists are not allowed to use cars as local transport.

Castle District Attractions

Tourists at the Budapest Castle District have several sightseeing options. These include the Fisherman's Bastion, the Matthias church and the Royal Palace. The Royal Palace comprises of three museums namely the Contemporary Art Museum, Budapest National Museum and Hungarian National Gallery. A trip from Budapest to Castle District is enjoyed by one and all.
