Buses in Budapest are the most widely used form of public transportation. There are approximately 200 bus routes in the city. People on the Buda side of the river mainly travel by buses as it provides easy access. The bus service begins quite early, at about 4.30 in the morning and they operate till 11.30 in the night. Night buses are also available. The BKV provides map which include all the vital information about the bus routes and their timings.
The BKV also runs the HEV or the suburban railways. It serves to link the city center with other areas beyond the city boundaries. There are four tracks on which the HEV functions. Tourists very often use the line at Szentendre for traveling to this part of the city.
BKV manages the whole system of transportation quite effectively and thus keeps the people on the move.
