Budapest is the capital city of Hungary. It is the country's principal political, cultural, commercial, industrial and transportation center. Budapest became the capital of Hungary in 1361. The city was partly destroyed by the British and American air raids during the World War II. It later expanded and formed new districts from the neighboring cities and towns. It has now 23 districts, six in Buda, 16 in Pest and one on Csepel Island. It is the eighth largest city in European Union.
Tourist Attractions: The embassies and transitional companies located in the city bring many expatriates to it. Besides this, the monuments and infrastructure of Budapest attract tourists to the city.
