Munich Transportation: The public transportation in Munich city is run by the Münchener Verkehrs- und Tarifverbund GmbH - MVV. The initial basic charge for taxis is €2.50 to which €1.45 per km is added for the first five kilometers. For the next five kilometers, it is €1.30 and for each kilometer thereafter it is €1.20. Taxi drivers cannot refuse to transport you and you have to pay only the amount displayed on the meter.
