Kaiserslautern Sightseeing: There are many places of tourist interest in Kaiserslautern city, which you can visit. Some of the tourist attraction spots of Kaiserslautern city are Betzenberg Deer Park, Kaiserbrunnen, and St. Martin's Square. The Betzenberg Deer Park is a huge 62-acre park that has thousands of beautiful deer roaming in their natural habitat. The Kaiserbrunnen on the Mainzer Gate has been a tourist attraction since many hours. The Kaiserbrunnen is a statue depicting Emperor Friedric Barbarossa and King Rudolph von Hapsburs, both of whom played an important role in the history of the city of Kaiserslautern. Some animals are also depicted in this statue - like the fish, horse, donkey, and the elephant each of which symbolize some aspect of the city of Kaiserslautern. The owl symbolizes the wisdom of the city of Kaiserslautern and the elephant is symbolic of the strength of the former city wall.

FIFA World Cup 2006: Many of the FIFA World Cup 2006 matches will also be held in Kaiserslautern city. On 9 June 2006, a Group A match between Poland and Ecuador will take place in Kaiserslautern. On 16 June 2006, a Group C match between Argentina and Serbia & Montenegro will take place in Kaiserslautern. On 21 June 2006, a Group D match between Portugal and Mexico will take place in Kaiserslautern. On 12 June 2006, a Group E match between USA and Czechoslovakia will take place here. On 1 July 2006, a quarter-final match between the qualifying teams will take place in Kaiserslautern. These matches will be played in the ultra-modern FIFA World Cup Stadium of Kaiserslautern. This stadium was opened officially on 13 August 2001. This stadium was assigned the highest possible five-star category by the governing body. This €191 million stadium was built entirely through private contributions.
