The Castle of Buckeburg is one of the Hanover attractions. The castle is located at a distance of 30 kilometers to the north of Hanover. The Buckeburg Castle was built by the Counts of Schaumburg in the 14th century. In 1601, Ernst Schaumburg- Lippe made the castle his residential place. Till today the castle is the residential place of the Dukes of Schaumburg- Lippe.
