Panoptikum Waxworks


Panoptikum Waxworks is the pride of Hamburg. Located at Spielbudenplatz, this unique collection showcases beautiful wax models. The Museum, almost 125 years old, features around 130 wax figurines. Visitors to the Panoptikum are shown around the museum through guided tours. The tour duration ranges from thirty minutes to an hour. The Panoptikum Museum remains open for the public seven days a week. The timings vary a bit on weekends.

    Entry to the Panoptikum Museum can be availed at the cost of approximately 4.50 Euros for adults. The price of entry tickets for children or people below 18 years of age comes to around 2.50 Euros. However, concessions are available for group tours, consisting of 15 people.

    A trip through the Museum is made all the more exciting and informative by the guided tours. These tours enable exchange of knowledge and vital information. The museum authorities have provisions
    for renting out small electronic audio devices at minimal rates of approximately 1.50 Euros.

    Kids have all the more reason to be happy as the Panoptikum Kids Tour is entertaining and at the same time enlightening. The children are guided by a pirate mouse which guides the kids around the museum.

    The wax statues in the Panoptikum belong to eminent personalities from diverse sections of cultural and social life. One can find historical personalities along side politicians, sports persons as well as musicians. Some of the figures that feature in this unique collection include wax models of Cleopatra, Madonna, Daniel Radcliffe and Romy Schneider.

    The authorities at the Panoptikum Waxworks give the museum premises on rent for various purposes. These include it been offered as a venue for press conferences and social gatherings like birthday parties and anniversaries. It is also available for film production units who intend to shoot their films here with the Museum as its backdrop. The setting and décor of the Museum has a unique old world feel and there is no need of putting up a different set. The Panoptikum Waxworks is one of the prime attractions and features in the itinerary of each and every visitor to the city.
