Altonaer Museum in Hamburg is one of the most popular museums in the city. The Altonaer Museum was established in 1901. Over the years, the Museum underwent renovation work and is currently located at Museumstrasse 23 in Hamburg. The Altonaer Museum features exhibits which demonstrate the indigenous trades like fishing, farming and boat building.
Admission rates at the Museum vary with respect to adults and children. Tickets for adults are priced at 6 Euros approximately, while children below 17 years of age are exempted from entry fees. There are concessions available on ticket rates in case of group tours. The Museum remains open throughout the year.

The Heine House was originally a leisure bungalow of Salomon Heine, who is better known to be the uncle of the noted poet Heinrich Heine.

The house is at present looked after by an association known by the family name. It was designated as a branch of the Altonaer Museum. There is a club by the name of “Heine” which arranges for lectures on various subjects.
The Rieck House is popular as an open air museum and was constructed around 1533. The barn is a special attraction of the house. A visit to the barn provides the tourist with an opportunity to get acquainted with the local culture and lifestyle. The décor of the house is aesthetically done with Dutch tiles, chests and antique furniture. The Rieck house became a branch of the Altonaer Museum in 1954.
The Jenish House is located in Hamburg Elbufer Park. It was included as a branch of the Altonaer Museum in1933. This two storey house consists of several antiquities. Comprising of numerous rooms in various architectural styles namely, rococo, baroque and the Biedermeier, the house is an interesting attraction for tourists. The other floor contains exhibits ranging from sculpture and paintings, architectural designs and several other artifacts. The Altonaer Museum is a one of the major attractions of the city of Hamburg.
