Tourist Attractions: Frankfurt has its share of famous and awe-inspiring historical and modern structures. Some of the historical tourist attractions of Frankfurt are the Archaeological Gardens and Emperor's Hall Inside the Roemer. Some modern tourist attractions of Frankfurt are the Banking District and Commerzbank Towers. The Fountain of Justice is a stone sculpture built in the honor of Justitia, who was the symbol of justice. The sculpture depicts the female Goddess with a sword and a pair of scales in her hands. This sculpture plays an important role during coronation ceremonies. This sculpture holds the pride of place in front of the city hall.

Museums: Frankfurt has plenty of museums offering a glimpse into its culture and heritage. Some of the local history and culture museums that you should take the time to visit are Goethehaus, Heinrich-Hoffman Museum, and Possman. Goethehaus is the house in which Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, the noted German novelist, lived from 1749 till some years later. The museum adjoining the house contains a library and a bookshop. The house is not the original house in which Goethe lived. That house was destroyed during the Second World War. This house is a reconstruction of the old house.

Amusement Parks: A famous amusement park of Frankfurt, which you and your family will surely enjoy visiting is Taunus-Wunderland. This park is built on the themes of fairytales. Some attractions, which have been added recently, are an ancient world of dinosaurs section. There are exhibits depicting the origin of Neanderthals and the origin and evolution of the Earth. To give you the thrills and chills, there is a haunted house also on the premises. That's not all. There is a sky diver, huge slides, a big ferris wheel, and water rides too. The entire park was renovated recently and has now become one of the most modern parks of Frankfurt.

Beaches: The city of Frankfurt is surrounded on all sides by land. Thus, you will not find any ocean beaches here. But Frankfurt is built on both sides of the River Main. Hence, you can enjoy a few hours by the banks of the River Main. The Eiserner Steg is a bridge over the River Main. This is an iron and concrete pedestrian bridge on which more than 10,000 pedestrians walk each day. It connects the city center with Sachsenhausen. This bridge, which was built in the neo-Gothic style architecture in 1869, has undergone several renovations.

Outdoor Activities: You can enjoy plenty of outdoor activities in Frankfurt. For instance, if you are an avid golfer and would like to play the game during your sojourn in Frankfurt, you can do so at several golf parks in the city. The golf clubs where you can play a round or two of golf are Golf Club Neuhof, Golf Club Idstein-Worsdorf, and Frankfurter Golf Club. Jogging along the banks of the River Main is a popular outdoor sport amongst the old-time residents and the visitors to Frankfurt.

FIFA World Cup 2006: Some of the Group matches for the FIFA World Cup 2006 will also be played in the city of Frankfurt. The matches that will be held in Frankfurt are given below. A Group B match between England and Paraguay will be played in Frankfurt on 10 June 2006. A Group C match between Netherlands and Argentina will be held in Frankfurt on 17 June 2006. A Group G match between Korea and Trinidad & Tobago will be held here on 13 June 2006. A Quarter-Final match will be played here on 1 July 2006. In Frankfurt, the games will be played in the Waldstadion stadium. The stadium was renovated during July 2002 to October 2005. This stadium has a seating capacity of 43,324 people. This is an ultra-modern stadium to befit a top city like Frankfurt.
