Cologne city is well known in the world for a type of beer produced by it known as Kolsch. A well known artificial fragrance, known as Eau de Cologne, meaning "water of Cologne," derives its name from Cologne. It is the name of an artificial fragrance created in the 18th century by an Italian expatriate, which became extremely popular all over the world.
