One of the largest and the most beautiful parks in Berlin, the Tiergarten is the best place to relax and spend some quiet time. With a massive landscape of 23 kilometers, the beauty of the park is characterized by flowering plants, trees, shrubs and flowers of different hues and color.
The Tiergarten was primarily a hunting ground for the electors of Brandenburg, but was later opened to general public by the first Prussian king, Friedrich I. Consequentially the roadway connection to the place was developed for the easy influx of visitors to the park. Later, it was George Wenzeslaus von Knobelsdorff, who was hired by Friedrich II, who redesign the . park on the lines of baroque

In the year 1844, the Tiergarten had a new addition to its beautification with the Berlin Zoo. Housing numerous species of plants and animals, the park and the zoo compliment each other in their ecological beauty. Even though most of the park was destroyed during the Second World War, it was reinstated to its former glory in 1955.
