Built as the summer residence of the Prussian prince August Ferdinand, the Schloss Bellevue is set beside the majestic Spree River. With a panoramic surrounding, the Schloss Bellevue has the beautiful Tiergarten Park in its vicinity to make for a spectacular backdrop. Built on a massive 20 hectares of beautiful landscape the building is presently the residence of the President of Germany.
The Schloss Bellevue was designed to compliment the comely surrounding it is set in. Designed by Philipp Daniel Boumann, this building is the best example of the first traits of neo-classical architectural style in Germany. The two stories of the building are decorated in a style that complements the in classic appeal of

the exterior. There are two wings to the ma building of Schloss Bellevue, which are “The Spree Wing” and “The Ladies’ Wing”.
Still nurturing the reminiscences of the past, the massive ball room exhibits splendid design and embellishments. Planned by the revered German architect Carl Gotthard Langhans, the Schloss Bellevue ball room now serves as the venue of official parties and receptions organized by the President of Germany.
After a series of post Second World War renovations in 1954, 1959 and in the mid 1980s, Schloss Bellevue has gained back its lost grandeur and elegance. It is presently one of the foremost Berlin tourist attractions.
