The Kurfürstendamm boulevard, also referred to as the Ku’damm, was built in the 1500s .Built by Elector Prince Joachim II, it was meant to be a stop over for the prince during his visit to the hunting lodge in the Grünewald forest. It was the idea of Otto Van Bismarck that the Kurfürstendamm be changed into a boulevard with trees and houses. The charm of the Kurfürstendamm still persists in the high rise apartments and buildings, which have replaced the old houses of the boulevard. Presently, the Kurfürstendamm also houses some of the splendid cafes, restaurants and shopping plazas of Berlin.

Embellished with facades, towers, gables, entranceways and bay windows, the Kurfürstendamm reflects the wealth and the prosperity of Old Germany. The old architectural grandeur of the streets in Kurfürstendammin can still be seen in places like Induna Haus, which was built in the year 1905 and is located at No. 59/69.Completely destroyed during World War, Kurfürstendamm was later reconstructed to form one of the chief Berlin attractions.
