Sacred-Heart Paris or the Basilique du Sacré Coeur was constructed to glorify the 'Holy Heart of Jesus', so that the sins of the country after the Commune of Paris in 1870 could be redeemed. The construction of Sacred-Heart Paris was completed in 1914 and was consecrated in the year 1919.
The architecture of Sacred-Heart of Paris is Romano-Byzantine in style and was designed by architect Abadie. The 80-meter tall bell-tower, the elongated domes and the pristine white structure of the church are very impressive. The statues of St. Louis, St. Joan of Arc and Christ are captivating and attract visitors from around the world. The interior of the church is very elegant with mosaic decorations. The beautiful images of Christ, Mother Mary, St Michael and St. Joan of Arc are seen in the apse above the altar.

Tourists can easily reach Sacred Heart by bus, metro or the hill tram. The opening hours of the Basilica of Sacred Heart are from 6 AM to 11 PM and the timings of the Dome are from 9 AM to 5:30 PM. In summer the Dome is open till 7 PM.
