The 12th and the 1st arrondissements are the most sparsely populated region of Paris. The 11th arrondissement is the most densely populated area with more than 40,000 people per sq. km. The 12th arrondissements is inhabited by 8,370 people per sq. km and the 1st arrondissements population density is 9,228 per sq. km. Parisian households are very small and the average size of households in Paris is less than two people. 50% of the households in Paris have single child. Living single is very common in the French capital city of Paris.
Nearly half of the total Paris population lives in the inner suburbs of the city. The better living conditions and cheap housing costs of the region have attracted huge number of people to the outer suburbs instead of the Paris proper. The central Paris and the western suburbs comprise of posh neighborhoods and the north and east of the city is inhabited by people of lower-income group.
