to the joint efforts of the UFAC or Union Francaise des Arts du Costume and UCAD or Union Centrale des Arts Décoratifs, that the opening of Musée de la Mode was possible. The impressive collections of textiles such as silks, printed cotton, embroidery, lace, costumes and tapestries of UCAD and those of UFAC were collectively displayed at Musée de la Mode.
The collection of Musée de la Mode comprises approximately 150,000 objects. All of them reflect the fashionable lifestyle of France, the skill of the craftsmen, the creativity of fashion artists and much more. There are about 30,000 samples of textiles, 35,000 fashion accessories and 16,000 costumes that are displayed at the museum. The exhibitions are on both contemporary attires as well as historical costumes belonging to the bygone eras. The Musée de la Mode also showcases the collections of famous fashion designers like Paul Poiret, Elsa Schiaparelli, Madeleine Vionnet and Christian Dior.
